Penny appeal have beeen working from the grass roots ensuring women can reclaim their independence and can stand on their own two feet and ensure their future is not determined by the years of abuse they have endured 

The money raised will go to the project called -   escaping darkness -Iraq-

Here women have been forced to face daily struggles-as they have lost their fathers.husbands and brothers in the war .They have been faced with an uncertain future -thousands have been raped -abused mentally and left at the margins of society.

Penny appeal has created building programmes to achieve gender equality and empower women and girls over the world 

The project is dedicated providing psychosocial support , legal awareness-raising workshops,and enables women to have the necessary  tools to start their own small business.

More than 130 women and girls have received psychological care from general practitioners and over 226 have had counselling sessions with community based workers providing a safe place for them to find a voice.

The programme has also reached more than 900 people in the community through awareness events
