Story
Hello all!
A huge thank you to you all for your donations and your encouraging words :) Your kind support will further encourage me to get to the finishing line. This time in a week, I will be around halfway through the marathon. Scary stuff!! Lets hope there is gorgeous weather!
So my training has started to pick up a bit but i still need to push myself, got my race pack today with a race chip, magazine and race t-shirt. The Slough Observer and Express newspapers are interested in doing the press release about my running the 10k! I was not expecting this - hope the fame doesn't go to my head! (that was sarcasm, by the way).
I hope to download the video of the British 10k and a photograph to share with you in my next post!
Once again, thank you so much for your support!
Hi guys,
I'm running the 10K London Run 8/07/2012 for SignHealth Charity because Deafness is invisible; you cannot tell if someone is Deaf just by looking at them. Deafness isolates people. SignHealth are totally dedicated to making life more equal for Deaf people. Their vision is a world where there are no barriers to good health and wellbeing for deaf people.
I would be delighted if you could help by sponsoring me, i hope to raise the money so it can go below so every penny counts.
£5 will pay for a week’s worth of meals for a Ugandan child to attend our specialist Deaf school.
£10 will buy a webcam to help a health professional and Deaf patient to communicate.
£20 pays for an hour of outreach support for a deaf with mental health issues.
£50 could cover the cost of overnight essentials for a Deaf woman and child escaping abuse.
What can you do to help?
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast, and secure. All donations are sent directly to the charity.
If you are a UK taxpayer, ticking the Gift Aid box will allow SignHealth to reclaim Gift Aid on your donation, at no extra cost to you.
Thank you for your support!!
