Since it was established in 2008, The Zahra Trust has provided millions of people across hundreds of communities throughout the world with relief and development aid. We aim to alleviate suffering, poverty and disadvantage as a result of conflict, natural disaster and discrimination.

Story

Nearly every 8 seconds a child dies from dirty water :( I’ll be walking from Najaf2Karbala to help raise money for The Zahra Trust projects including its water aid project in Afghanistan where around 50% of the population do not have access to water.

  • 783 million people in the world do not have access to safe water. This is roughly one in ten of the world's population.
(WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) Report 2012 update)
  • 2.5 billion people in the world do not have access to adequate sanitation, almost two fifths of the world's population.
(WHO/UNICEF Joint Monitoring Programme (JMP) Report 2012 update)
  • Around 700,000 children die every year from diarrhoea caused by unsafe water and poor sanitation - that's almost 2,000 children a day.
    (WaterAid 2012/WHO 2008/The Lancet 2012)
  • In the name of Ali Asghar, please dig deep and donate now!
