My story
My name is Sally. I am running the Bupa Great Manchester Run on Sunday 20th May 2012 in aid of Hospitality Action.
My parents have both been in the hospitality business for over 25 years and I have worked in Hospitality in some shape or form since I was old enough to work. From a Saturday job to full time employment it has been there to support me through my studies and been part of my life.
Thankfully I myself have never needed to call upon their assistance, but it is comforting to know that an organisation like Hospitality Action is there should I, or my family ever need to call upon their help.
Hospitality Action offer support to people who work or have worked in hospitality and have for one reason or another, fallen on hard times. From those life-altering illnesses such as Parkinson’s Disease, cancer and Multiple Sclerosis to those experiencing poverty, bereavement and domestic violence or people with sick and disabled children, Hospitality Action offer grants, support and counselling where and when it is needed.
Linthwaite House Hotel are running the Bupa Manchester Great Run as a team - something that is intergral to a hotel and it's sucess, so I hope that if you are able, you can me raise £250.00 and get the team up to £1000.00 raised overall.

Hospitality Action is the hospitality industry benevolent organisation, helping past & present workers of all ages who are in crisis, such as the bereaved, the ill & the disabled. HA offers financial aid & information, and also supports a youth guidance scheme educating on alcohol and drugs misuse.
