Salim's Sponsored Sleepout With The Homeless

Sponsored Sleepout With The Homeless · 22 November 2013
I know I seem to have another Justgiving page every couple of days and I always write something about how this particular thing is the toughest thing I've done yada yada, but honestly speaking, of all the charity things I've done in the part, the sponsored sleepout in 2009 has never really left me. It was a truly awful night. It was cold and you can't sleep well at all. I'll never forget how horrible that night was and it really made me sympathise with the homeless people that I used to walk past without thinking twice.
One thing I never was (and never will) be able to appreciate is the despair. I know at 7am on Saturday morning I'll be able to go to my warm bed in my warm house. I know I will have family and friends that will ask all about it and applaud my efforts. These people don't have that.
I know I ask way too often and I apologise for that, but in organising this event I've been dealing with St Mungo's and have seen some of the work they do, they're a fantastic charity and I'd love to be able to give them something to continue making such a difference in London.
