You will know that I have fundraised throughout Sophie’s treatment since diagnosis in 2015 for acute lymphoblastic leukaemia.  Thankfully she is in remission and going from strength to strength and is able to try and put this behind her and stride forward into the future fit and well.  There have been times in the last few years when events have overwhelmed us - continually rushing to the hospital at all hours day and night, fear of what the chemo was doing to Sophie as we watched her struggle with the pain. Family life when your child has cancer is hard to imagine, you cannot plan (other than around the next treatment schedule) and you just have to go with whatever the chemo and side effects throw your way.  CLIC Sargent nurses and support workers are without doubt the kindest most selfless people you could ever meet.  From our first meeting with CLIC at the Royal Marsden when they guided us as to what was to come and how to try to cope to most recently when Sophie’s community nurse came round at the drop of a hat as we feared the cancer had returned (false alarm thankfully) they have offered support.  So now I have more time to train as treatment for Sophie is over I would like to say thank you CLIC by running this half marathon.  CLIC you are amazing xx
