After some time of indolence I am running the Moor Park 10k on 26th September 2010 to raise money for Adoption UK.

Today, most children placed or waiting for adoption are about 4 years old and have been though the care system because they have been abused, neglected or rejected by their natural parents. As a result many of these children have been traumatised.

Adoption UK believes that the endlessly challenging and vitally important role of adoptive parent requires all the help it can get. The money raised will help fulfil our aim, which is to educate, support and empower it's members to reparent and therapeutically parent their children.

 The Hertfordshire group organises events for families to share experiences and support each other.  We organise a number of local events, including family days, educational meetings and coffee mornings. 

One of our major events this year is to organise a christmas party to help these children learn to have fun again.
