Every 9 days in Scotland a baby or child will die suddenly and unexpectedly - many of their families will never know why they died. As the only charity in Scotland dedicated to the issue of Sudden Unexpected Death in Infancy (SUDI), we provide support, education resources and fund research.

Story

Thank you for visiting my page.

Im fundraising on behalf of Layla's Angels, a team set up to raise money in memory of beautiful Layla Jade Lovie. You can read Layla's story below. I started out wanting to do something to help and also wanted a challenge before I reach the big 40, so I set myself the challenge to swim 40km  before my 40th birthday.  I have kept the fundraising page live since then and have added a donation every Christmas instead of sending cards to remember Layla and her family. I'm hoping to do something bigger in 2017 so watch this space! Thank you all for your donations to a fantastic cause.

Sadly on New Years Day at 5.30am 2013, Layla passed away in her sleep, aged 11 days. Layla was a much loved and longed for baby that filled everyone's hearts with joy from the moment she was born.

Losing anyone you love is difficult but when it's a baby at the start of life it leaves your world shattered.

After a little help to concieve, Jenna and Ronald welcomed the safe arrival of their beautiful daughter Layla into the world. She was born on December 21st 2012 at 6.37am weighing a healthy 6lbs 13 & 3/4. All their family and friends could not wait to visit and shower her with love.

In the short time that was spent with Layla many bonds were formed and she was utterly adored. When the news came of Layla's heartbreaking death it filled us with disbelief and plunged her parents into darkness. It has been with support and extreme kindness that they are managing to come through such a sad time.

It is with dignity and strength that that they wish to continue to fundraise for their beautiful daughter and other families.

The Scottish Cot Death Trust have given a valuable and supportive service to Jenna, Ronald and Layla's family and this is the Charity they would like to fundraise for in her memory.

Information About The Scottish Cot Death Trust

With your help we can raise awareness of the Trust and its work and raise vital funds to make sure we can continue to try and find answers.
Company Overview
Cot death claims the life of 1 baby or child every 9 days in Scotland. The Scottish Cot Death Trust is the only cot death charity in Scotland.

Since the Trust was formed 25 years ago, we have invested more than £3million in research. We educate parents and professionals on how to reduce the risks and we support families, all over Scotland, who are living with the devastation caused by cot death.

Please support our work. Tell your friends and family about us; help us raise awareness of the Trust and its work and help us raise vital funds to make sure we can continue to try and find answers.
A total of 86% of our income comes directly from the wider public making donations or supporting us through fundraising events.

The Trust can offer CPR training to Parents that have suffered a bereavement of a child. They can also offer Apnea Mats to prevent families suffering this loss more than once. The mats cost £500 alone and these are given to parents on loan for up to a year.
