Yorkshire 3 Peaks Walk · 29 April 2017

Coram, the UK’s first and longest-serving children’s charity, changes lives, laws and systems to create better chances for children, now and forever.

Story

On April 29th 2017 I will be climbing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks - a total of 25 miles -along with a team of colleagues from Coutts to raise funds for the charity, Coram.

Along with my fellow team mates, we will be climbing Pen-Y-Ghent, Whernside (the highest at 736m) and Ingleborough and I have set myself the target of seeing off these 'bad boys' in 12 hours.

Having completed the walk from Brighton to Eastbourne Pier in 2014, I know that this will not be a walk in the park and so have dedicated a lot of my time recently to ........... walking! I have walked 15 miles from Hastings to Rye, the 13 miles Bewl Reservoir walk, walked the Seven Sisters on the hottest day of the year and taken my niece and nephew to Howletts Zoo which saw me complete 15,000 steps.

As well as being able to put a 'tick in the box' personally, what is more important is raising funds for the amazing charity, Coram.

Coram provides help to vulnerable children and young people in overcoming trauma and poverty, enabling them to live healthy and happy lives. Coram has been helping children for over 275 years and today, they help over a million children and young people every year, providing practical and emotional help.

To put into perspective how important your sponsorship is:

£5 could pay to run a specialist support group for adopted children.

£10 could help fund a survival pack for a young person leaving care.

£15 could contribute towards the cost of music therapy session to help children overcome their traumatic past.
