Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. This is my 3rd London Marathon and once again I am running for my beautiful grandson, Oliver. The difference this time is that Ollie died on the 6th October 2009 and all our lives are changed forever. As you can see from his photos he was a cheeky, funny and completely inspirational little boy. This is my chance to give something back to Beach Ward at the Evelina Children's Hospital where Ollie spent so much time of his short life. I am so grateful for the care and love they gave him, and are continuing to give to us, and was the only comfort to us on that bleak day in October. I know that they were as devastated as we were when we lost him. Ollie taught me many things, but I think one of the most important is how to live your life to the full, no matter what. Life wasn't always kind to him, he was born with complex medical needs that meant that he had to have feeding tubes, catheter bags and, in the last years of his life, he had to carry a bag everywhere with him containing a feeding pump and TPN. Even through all that he never lost his sense of humour and love of life. He never worried about the things that he couldn't do, just focussed on his many interests and the things that he was good at, such as Formula 1, cooking, football and the XBox. I feel truly blessed that we had him in our lives, I know that we are all better people for having known and loved him.
