Story

Thank you for visiting my fundraising page. Please dig deep and sponsor me online.

Together with my colleague Wendy, I 'm going on a three day trek in Iceland in July 2007.  My minimum target is £1850.  I'm making a donation from my salary every month via gift aid, which will be double matched by my employers.  This money will cover the costs of the trek, so every penny donated by you will go to benefit Havens.

Our fundraising evening at the Tandoori Parlour in Benfleet was a great success.  Over fifty people attended.  We raised over £300.00 that evening, so thanks to everyone who turned up.   We will be organising another one soon, so watch this space.

First prize in our Christmas raffle (a portable colour TV) was won by Kevin Derbyshire.  The raffle raised £400.00 - thanks to everyone who bought a ticket

I'd like to thank Toni - she is a psychic and when I met her I asked her how I went about organising a charity psychic evening.  She promptly offered to come to my house to do some readings, free of charge.   We held two psychic evenings at my house and raised £160.00.

We held a successful quiz night at Blanchfields Bar in Rochford in March.  Despite panicking about not getting enough people we ended up packed to the rafters.  I'm told I had a nice time.  We raised £370.00 from that evening.  Our thanks go to the management at Blanchfields, who not only donated their function room free of charge but also donated 20% of the bar profits from the evening.

Why did I choose Havens?  Firstly, I'm grateful that I've two healthy children and I hope they stay that way.  Little Havens Childrens Hospice offers quality care for those families who are not so fortunate.  Secondly, I have had friends and relatives with serious illnesses who have benefitted enormously from the care offered by the hospice service.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Havens Hospices will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

So please sponsor me now!

Many thanks for your support.
