Story

Thank you for coming to my Just Giving site. My name is Sam Bradshaw and I want to do something positive to help people affected by cancer, by raising money for macmillan suport.

Everyone’s Mum is precious – and my dynamic, energetic Mum, Linnis, is one of the very best – always there for me, always loving and supporting me in every aspect of my life.

When she was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer in 2007 I was amazed by the strength with which she confronted all the huge challenges that cancer brings, from the daily emotional roller coaster to withstanding the various sapping treatments that accompany a cancer diagnosis. Just as our family were putting it all behind us she was again diagnosed with cancer, this time in the spine!

So to show my support for mum and every other family struggling with cancer I am challenging myself to climb 24 peaks in Snowdonia in 1 single 24 hour period. I am training hard while caring for my mum. I don’t know if the 24 peaks in 24 hours is possible for me but if mum can fight cancer then this will be simple in comparison.

I plan to undertake this challenge at the end of May – the exact date will depend on the weather. The climb will start at around 10 o’clock in the evening at Drum, moving on over the Carneddau, across to & up Tryfan, the Glyders, across and down to Llanberis, over Snowdon and finish up at Moel Siabod. This is a huge challenge and I ask you to donate as much as you can to Macmillan, to help support those affected by this terrible disease.
