Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In June 2014 I will be climbing all 5981 metres to the summit of Mount Kilimanjaro for six days, along with 39 other students from the University of Bath, and together we are hoping to raise £60,000.
I will also be running the Bath Half marathon in March 2014, as well as a variety of other fundraising activities in order to raise sponsorship to reach my personal fundraising target of £3,000.
Both the climb and the half marathon represent a huge test for me, as I have never climbed a mountain, ran for longer than 30 minutes or attempted such physical challenges, and am yet to finish my duke of Edinburgh bronze award which I started 4 years ago...
That’s enough about me, but why should you donate to the children's society?
The children's society works with disadvantaged and vulnerable children in the UK, who don't get support from anyone else. In particular they support child carers, some of whom are younger than 10, young runaways living on the streets, and disabled children.
The children's society is one of the UK's leading children's charities, and they need your support to continue to help to transform the lives of around 45,000 children each year.
Any amount of donation would be warmly received and can make a difference, even if it is just to provide a runaway with a hot meal this winter, or giving a child carer a day out to relieve them of the constant stress of looking after relatives.
Thank you for taking the time to read my page, and please make a donation so that the Children's Society can continue to do the great work they do.
