My story
Sunday lie in this week 6.30 am (yes im serious that's a lie in) to enjoy cycling 100 miles of hills, rain hills and lots more rain. 2 weeks until the toughest challenge the full McCoy (please rain stop).
Thanks so much for all those of you who have supported me already.
On July the 22nd I’ll be taking up the challenge of completing a full ironman. I’ll getting up sometime around 4am to jump into a lake and swim 2.4miles, then straight onto my bike to ride 112 miles and to finish it off, run a marathon. Mental, yes I probably am, but its all for a great cause. I work with our injured soldiers everyday, and they truly are inspirational, watching guys with no limbs and other traumatic injuries achieve amazing feats. I promised a patient that before I finished treating him I would learn to swim and complete a triathlon. This seemed a sensible place to start. Some of these guys will also be involved in the ironman completing parts of the race and some even all of it. Team True Spirit will be supporting all the military service charities. Although they are all worthy charities I have chosen to support Blesma. Blesma provides the opportunity for injured soldiers to experience new and adapted sports to enable them to return to a full active life. Sport has given so many injured soilders a new focus, helping both their mental and physical recovery. Sport is such a big part of my life, and I couldn’t imagine a life without it. Please support me and Blesma, helping our injured soldiers back to an active lifestyle.
Thanks for all your support, every penny reminds me why i’m up at 6am everyday to get training in.

My updates 5
Im not sure whats more of a challenge, t-total until the end of July or the Ironman. I'm sacrificing my social life, and our injured soldiers have scarified so much, so please sacrifice a few pennies for a great cause.
Despite the sun shining this afternoon, evidently Heron lake is still boltic. 2km in freezing water. Seriously this is more impressive than getting my face in Hello magazine next to Prince Harry.
London marathon, what a great day. 3.36hours, well chuffed after the injury plagued prep. Now just to add a swim and cycle before hand. Seriously?
Ok so no more running until sunday. What will I do with myself tomorrow? I guess I could have a lie in. Is that what people do on a Saturday. Any suitable suggestions gratefully received. Wish me luck, this rest thing could be more challenging than 26.2miles :0)
Ok first open water swim, ever. I have one word. Boltic. This is some dedication to get up at 6 am on a saturday morning to cycle 20 miles to go swim training in a freezing lake. Definitely more brain freeze than an ice cream.
