In celebrating my companies 10^th birthday and to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, we are taking on our biggest challenge yet.

Challenge 1100 will involve colleagues completing a relay linking key telent sites in the UK. The route will be 1100km in total with colleagues walking, running or cycling as much of the route as possible. In a moment of madness I thought it was a good idea to put myself forward and am now taking on a 60+ mile bike ride.

Now I have to admit I’m not a complete novice to a 60 mile bike ride, when I was younger and a lot fitter I actually completed 61 miles in 7 hours and 30 minutes, and that was with two pub stops for refuelling. For this event, I have to take on a very similar distance but within a 6 hour time frame and unfortunately for me, without the pub stops …. As you can imagine, I’m going to find this very challenging

The real reason behind wanting to take part in this challenge is of course the charity. Sadly at some stage in our lives we have known or likely will know someone that will battle with cancer. The dedication and guidance that all Macmillan staff provide in supporting the individual’s and family’s affected is inspiring, and I'm sure you will agree is a very worthy casue. So please help me in raising money for this wonderful charity and exciting challenge.
