Story

Hello all you lovely people, thanks for visiting this page. I'm raising money for Youth Action Wiltshire by running in the Virgin London Marathon 2012. Please find it in your heart to pledge a donation towards this truly worthwhile cause.

THE CHALLENGE

As some of you will be aware, the London Marathon distance is approximately 26.2 miles. Before November, when I started training, I hadn't run further than about 5 miles - ever! As you can imagine, the thought of running as far as a marathon at that time was pretty intimidating.

After a few injury hiccups early on, the training has since gone according to plan. The sheer distance still feels daunting, although my knees are now strong and I'm clocking up considerable mileage in my spare time each week. The recent freezing cold weather tried its best, but failed to dent my progress and I'm feeling as defiant as ever! With your support I will have the strength to tackle all the remaining obstacles in my way between now and race day on April 22nd.

MY CAUSE

Youth Action Wiltshire charitably supports young people to overcome real issues preventing them from leading full and active lives. Interventions are often through structured group activities and individual support, with transport assistance provided. Key issues targeted currently include unemployment, rural isolation, family caring responsibilities, antisocial and offending behaviour, and learning difficulties and disabilities. YAW also supports other youth organisations to start up, grow and remain strong.

Young people in 2012 are facing a growing plethora of challenges so YAW remains dedicated to tackling these issues at local level, at a time when it is most important. Your support will help YAW to continue its award-winning level of service in spite of the tough economic climate it operates within.

HOW CAN YOU HELP?

Simple! Please sponsor me to run in the Virgin London Marathon 2012 for YAW! Your donated money will be massively appreciated and I will do my absolute best to complete the race in as quick a time as possible!

Please please please!! :-)
