Virgin London Marathon 2013 · 21 April 2013 ·
I have always wanted to run the London Marathon and gave myself a target of running my first one before I was 30. Suddenly realising that by the 2013 race I will be 28 I thought I had better do it now!!!!! Those who know what I am like will know that I will finish this, even if I am crawling by the end of it (which I hope will not happen!) and my aim is to run it in under 5 hours so please can you all sponsor me, no matter how little as every little thing makes a difference. A few years ago my Dad was ill and collapsed on the stairs and it was a First Responder who arrived to help him back onto his feet and provide the initial care. Since then I have had great respect for these people, who give up their time to come out and provide life saving services to people who need it. This is essential for the fast treatment of people who live in the rural and isolated areas of Cornwall, who would normally have longer to wait for an Ambulance to arrive. They receive no payment for what they do and are here in Cornwall due to the work of FLEET. FLEET have been able to spend £1.5 million on lifesaving equipment and provide training here in Cornwall and I want to be a part of helping them to keep up their great work. Check out their website at www.fleet.org.uk.
