Story

Hi there!

Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about my cause and the reason behind my rather out of the blue decision to climb the Himalayas.

First of all, if you'd like to find out more about the challenge I am undertaking then you can follow this link: http://www.discoveradventure.com/challenge.aspx?t=52

This challenge will take a great deal of dedication and preparation. I will be giving up smoking (a challenge in itself) and joining the gym whilst following an incredibly strict exercise and training routine.

Enough about me...the reason I am attempting this is in honour of my step-brother Matthew. He is a resident at Andlaw House in Exeter which is a home for ten people who have varying levels of sight and hearing loss, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties.

Since moving to Andlaw House, Matthew has the chance to live how any other man in his 30's should be able to. He frequently socialises and goes on roadtrips with friends, all whist receiving the very best of care.

This challenge is my way of saying thank you to the staff and to the charity itself for taking such wonderful care of my brother and giving him the tools to enjoy his life to the fullest. The little things that they do affect the lives of so many young men and women for the better and I for one am incredibly grateful to them.

I am funding this trek myself. Every penny that is donated will go straight to Sense...so please dig deep!

Many Thanks

Sam

xx
