Hey guys over £900 with off line donations thank you all so much really want to get to £1000 by Sunday love you all

Thank you for taking the time to visit and read my page.

My name is Samantha Catchpole and I am running the London Marathon in memory of my son Max Catchpole. Max was born on the 31st of December 1995 and died on the 16th of September 1997. He spent the first few months of his very short life in the Special Care Baby Unit at Ipswich Hospital where he was loved and cared for by the staff there. I am running the marathon to raise money for the SCBU. The staff were so brilliant and caring and although my son was very very poorly they tried to make every day special and tried to keep me smiling. They took the time to talk to me and help me with any concerns I had. I am sure without their care Max would never have had the chance to come home even though it was for such a short time.

When Max passed away some of the nurses even took the time to come to the funeral and I will never forget their kindness.

I luckily have two more beautiful sons now one of which also spent a brief spell in SCBU. I was so surprised to see many of the nurses still working there which shows that they are such a dedicated team. It takes a very special person to work in that environment and to remain so dedicated.

Every step I run in the marathon I will be thinking of Max and also some very special friends whose children have also been in SCBU.

I aim to run the marathon in under five hours and I am currently putting in many miles of practice and have the blisters to prove it!!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my page and if you can spare just a few pence I would be very grateful.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
