It’s still hard to believe, but on the 4th June a good friend, Tim Foster, and I shall be setting off from that iconic landmark of Lands End to cycle the entire length of the UK (a total of 986 miles). We aim to reach our destination of John O’Groats in just 9 days (hopefully in one piece!).

Having never attempted anything near to this scale before, the training (and carb-loading) are now in full swing! To help keep our motivation up and our legs moving on those long days, it will definitely be thoughts of all those supporting us, and the charities that we are raising money for, that will help keep us going. 

I've chosen to raise money for NBFA – a UK-based charity that works hard to break social isolation and lonliness for those who are elderly and living in poverty. One key area in which NBFA provides support is through much needed trips away for the elderly and their carers. Some have not been away from their home for many years and many live alone with no regular social contact with the outside world. This is a charity close to my heart and so whatever people are able to contribute will be hugely appreciated. 

As Tim and I are paying for all our own food and accommodation costs, every single penny raised will be going straight to where it's needed most. NBFA are a small charity and so your donation will really help make a difference to the lives of those affected.
