Sue Ryder is here to make sure everyone approaching the end of their life or living with grief can get the support they need. There is no one size fits all when it comes to how we cope and the help we need, but with our support, no one has to face dying or grief alone. We are there when it matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my Just Giving page.

As well as a much-respected journalist and broadcaster in the caravan and motorcaravan industry, John Wickersham was also my dad.

He was diagnosed with cancer in November 2014. Following a year long battle with this horrendous disease, he sadly passed away on 5 December 2015 aged 73.

It's desperately sad as he was such a fit man, a non-drinker and a non-smoker. He had a real passion for life and was an inspiration to many.We thought he had beaten it in August this year only for it to come back again with a vengeance and there was simply nothing they could do to stop it.

This disease does not discriminate and I want to raise funds to help find a cure so other families don't lose a husband, a father, and a grandfather like we did.

I am jointly fundraising for Cancer Research UK and Sue Ryder St John's Hospice in Moggerhanger, where dad spent his last few days in this world. I am hoping to raise similar amounts for each charity so please consider splitting any donation between these two fantastic charities.
