Story
As you may be aware I work for a homeless charity in East London called Anchor House. It is located in the London borough of Newham, in the most deprived ward in the country. It is an award winning centre helping people to turn their lives around - working at the heart of homelessness – addressing the root causes of why they became homeless in the first place.
At 50-years of age, Anchor House however is now urgently in need of re-development and the waiting list for new residents grow longer every day. Which is why I along with many other supporters have joined with Anchor House to launch a £9.3 million appeal to ensure its lasting legacy continues.
On 9/11 I will be joining Anchor House staff and homeless residents to help raise money for the appeal. We will be running the 5k Adidas Challenge . . . or possibly walking, skipping, but defintely laughing!
You know the only difference between us and the homeless is that most of us have some kind of support – families, friends, work colleagues. They’re always there to lend a helping hand when we are down. So please lend a hand to those without support and help break the cycle of homelessness for good. Please dig deep and donate now.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
