Depression is a horrible illness that is misunderstood and hard to understand unless you have been there and had experiences yourself – I often hear it described as being trapped inside your own head, feeling worthless and invisible and your cries for helps go unheard, you could be surrounded by millions of friends but still be the loneliest person in the world. If only you could open your own head up and wash all the black out you would feel better.  Unfortunately the words ‘pull yourself together, just cheer up’ don’t work, infact they proceed to make matters worse.

Each day is a fight, against these uncontrollable feelings, thoughts, preconceived ideas, so please donate as much or as little as you can so that others can get the help, support and understanding they need, so together we can try and make a difference.

Depression alliance and other depression organizations believe that people have the right to make choices about their lives, including medical treatment and care and they try to help prevent the stigma and discrimination (one that i have personal experience with) and to aid social inclusion on those who suffer from this disease.

Here are a few stats:

- 1 in 5 people suffer from depression in their lives

- More than 2.9 people in the UK are diagnosed as having depression and 3 in 4 cases of depression are neither treated nor recognized

- Depression is a KILLER with more than 70% of recorded suicides being committed by people with depression. More than two young people commit suicide everyday in UK and Ireland

- 80% of people with depression can be helped with the appropriate treatment

- With your help and denotations we can help funds and treatment for those with depression and keep sites like livinglifetothefull who allow invaluable treatment for those with depression and fantastic support network!

My worse experience with depression has been the lack of understanding about depression, its not a weakness, were not moaning or walling in self pity, it is an illness a chemical imbalance, together lets turn the social perception of depression.

Thank you for your support
