Story

In memory of Kira May Angel Fernley

Our beautiful very much loved and wanted daughter was born sleeping at 29 weeks & 6 days on the 26th June 2009 at 03:36am weighing 2 pounds & 15 ounces.

An Angel wrote in the book of life our daughter’s date of birth

then whispered, as she closed the book "too beautiful for earth"

The loss of our daughter has completely shocked and devastated everyone around us, we were expecting life to our first child, but we were given a beautiful daughter born sleeping. They have found no reason why Kira passed away and unfortunately we are that 1% that can happen in any pregnancy.

We received excellent care at Royal Derby Hospital on the Butterfly Suite on Labour Ward and we would like to help others who sadly will go through a similar situation to ourselves.

On our first wedding anniversary my husband, me and other family members will be taking part in the Jingle Jog on Sunday December 6th to help the maternity service continue with the care we were given.

Donating on here will help improve the facility by enhancing the space and utilise the external courtyard area to provide an environment where woman and their families can reflect and grieve in their own way and in their own time, to help them in coming to terms with their loss.

Our daughter will always be missed, never replaced and will never be forgotten.

We live in hope that Kira will have a brother or sister soon, and we will tell whoever happens to come along about their big sister who lives on the clouds with the angels x x x

Thank you to all of you who have shown us support during this very painful and difficult time
