Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
By now you're probably aware that I'm a clinical depressive. This time last year I thought I was doing okay, then this past year my head went into a tailspin, from which I've not yet fully recovered. But after years of living with it and working out what helps, I have medication and therapy and some good people to help me tackle what the drugs can't change.
I was diagnosed when I was 20 and at university, and obviously miserable but couldn't explain why. I tried. If I'd been a boy I might not have got to diagnosis, because they are, after all, even more rubbish at talking about stuff like this than I was.
Calm - the Campaign Against Living Miserably - is trying to help address that, but it can only just afford to keep its helpline open four days a week - and when the horrors are on you, they don't care about office hours.
It costs Calm around £6,400 to run the helpline each month. I'm not asking for that much, but if donations in lieu of my birthday and Christmas stuff could fund even one day's operation (that's just over £200), that would be fantastic.
It would make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside, which is a really good anti-depressant. And it could do even more for someone else.
