Hello,
I'm raising funds to provide a wheelchair for Mrs. Saleem who lives in Puttalam, Sri Lanka. I met Mrs. Saleem in 2009 when she came in for a workshop. I was shocked when Mrs. Saleem came crawling in off the busy Puttalam road, along with her husband Mr. Saleem who happens to be blind.
Two years on and nothing has been done to improve her life despite her being a member of an NGO called the Asian Peoples Disability Alliance. Due to the lack of care by both the State and the NGO, I decided to take up this initative on my own and got in touch with the Motivation team and a friend in Puttalam who knew her whereabouts. The assessment stage has been completed with the next step being delivery and training. Exciting times!
