Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

This year I turn 34, and in a burst of apparent maturity, I decided I'd ask for a moratorium on recipe books, DVDs and glittery things and instead request that what you might have spent on a present to go to a cause where it'll make much more of a difference.

You may or may not be aware that I'm a clinical depressive. I have good medication and had a year of CBT to help me tackle what the drugs couldn't change.

I was diagnosed when I was 20 and at university, and obviously miserable but couldn't explain why. I tried. But If I'd been a boy I might not have got to diagnosis, because they are, after all, even more rubbish at talking about stuff like this than I was.

Calm is trying to help address that, but it can't afford to keep its helpline open full-time.

These days a mug of tea, a good rant and some company is usually all I need to help me bounce back; help me help the people who haven't found *their* cure-all strategy yet.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Now, have yourself a slice of cake.
