Story

I am about to begin the second part of a world cycling trip. I have already cycled across the USA and Japan and am continuing my journey from Bangkok to Bali. From there I will cycle 7,500 miles around the circumference of Australia. From there I will fly to Georgia and cycle through Europe to home (England).

In total I hope to cover 15,000 miles, which is approximately two times more miles than I have already covered. This journey will commence on the 9th of March 2014.

I would like to say a big thank you to all those that supported me in the past whether it was on or off the road. The help that I have received from complete strangers has been overwhelming. It's been an amazing and testing experience and I can not wait for what is to come next.

I appreciate all your support for the future no matter how big or small

Why WaterAid? -

The journey will of course be challenging but my efforts will no doubt be rewarded with unique and wonderful experiences. However, I would also like to give back something in return. I considered numerous charities that I could support, but I felt that necessity should come first. And so, water being the foundation for all life left me with an obvious choice.

We all expect clean water and consider something so basic to be ours by rights. I’m sure you are all aware that some people don’t have this luxury, others less fortunate than us have to travel vast distances or are left with no option but to drink contaminated water.

So here’s the part where you come in… Whilst on my travels I will undoubtedly be helped, fed and given shelter by a wide variety of wonderful people (they already have, the world is filled with good people). So if I can raise money for a charity that does so much good, providing what we can obtain so easily, then I will have at least attempted in some way to repay that kindness.

What WaterAid do-

WaterAid enables the world's poorest people to gain access to safe water and sanitation. Together with improved hygiene, these basic human rights underpin health, education and livelihoods, forming the first essential step in overcoming poverty.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

I officially set off in August 2012, and hope to return some time in 2014. Please help me in raising as much as possible to make someone else’s life a little bit safer.

             Thank you!
