Story
Hello!
So as we near the final countdown for our one million pound appeal, I’m going to attempt one last challenge for the Christie this year.
And as a woman with a body built more for cake than sport, I have no shame in admitting I am afraid.
On Friday 6 December I’m going to attempt a triathlon around Greater Manchester to be completed before I finish my programme at midday.
I’ll start by cycling at the Velodrome, with a little support and encouragement from Team GB Cycling then I’ll head to the Aquatic Centre and swim in the pool where so many top athletes have swum before me, then it’s on with my trainers and I’ll run the 5.5km from the Aquatic Centre, back to BBC Radio Manchester at Media City. Hopefully.
I really hope you can support me, every single penny you donate will go towards making the lives of patients at the Christie just a little bit better. It’s an incredible place – we all know someone who is or has been treated there and together we can make sure it continues to be a place we can be proud of here in Greater Manchester.
Thanks so much for your support!
