This year, I'm giving my birthday money to my cousins... Yep, the chimpanzees!

I read an article in The Guardian (and saw the photos) about Congolese chimpanzees and how they're being subjected to a 'wave of killing' by hunters pursuing them for bushmeat. One consequence is 'bushmeat orphans' - infants too small to be killed for meat, put on the black market for sale as pets.

The Mona Foundation cares for rescued chimpanzees at its sanctuary near Girona in Spain, where the primates can live in a natural environment and people can be inspired to understand and respect wild animals.

I know this will invite further comparisons (I'm a monkey, yes, haha), but please give generously and help our cousins who can't help themselves.
