LIDBA Charity Bike Ride 2013 · 9 June 2013

We're here to bridge the gap between needing Mental Health support due to a devastating Duchenne diagnosis and accessing the NHS services families facing Duchenne need. Therapy empowers families to navigate the complexities of DMD with a greater sense of understanding and emotional well-being.

Story

Grandparents are the most amazing people. They love and protect their families unconditionally. Imagine, therefore, receiving the news that one of your grandchildren has been diagnosed with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) and is likely to be in a wheelchair before he finishes primary school and has a life expectancy of that possibly only into his late teens. A chance meeting in our village hall brought me into the lives of such grandparents and harrisonsfund, a charity which is committed in the race to finding a cure for their grandson and other young boys suffering with this devastating muscle wasting disease. Absolute dedication, commitment and extraordinary fund raising challenges have now built this charity from it's infancy into the chance of finding a real cure and literally, every penny counts.

On Sunday 9th June, our team will be completing the LIDBA Charity Cycle Ride and raising money for this wonderful cause. Please, please give whatever you can and help us give Harrison and other young boys the chance of a better future with their families.
