Story
In July and August 2010, Sandy, Archie and Tom drove a 1972 Land Rover Ambulance more than 10,000 miles through 17 countries from London to Ulan Bator in Mongolia. Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan - they all got a look in. We even got arrested at gunpoint in Iran!
We donated the ambulance to the general hospital of Bayan Olgii aimag. Mongolia has a horrendous shortage of 4x4 ambulances to work the country's "roads", so our vehicle was much appreciated.
Many thanks to all of our very generous family and friends who donated cash to Go Help!, the charity that set up the rally. We raised almost double our target in the end, so will be eternally grateful.
Go Help! is staffed by volunteers and its team have been doing great work in Mongolia for four years concentrating on projects involving children. You can find out more at www.gohelp.org.uk.
Thank you again
Sandy, Archie and Tom
P.S. We highly recommend the rally to anyone considering it - it's the trip of a lifetime.
