Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
My name is Saniya Srivastava and I'm Indian currently studying medicine in the UK. When I wanted to join the Kenyan Orphan Project, there were many people who were against it. Calling a waste of time and energy and of course money. However, my mind and most importantly heart knew that this is what I wanted to do. Being from India, I have been exposed to poverty in its rawest form and I know the plight that little children face expecially when every individual deserves the right to childhood. The one question I've been asked very often is why Kenya? Being from India where the situation is as bad, why not do something for India first. All through my school years, I've been working with children in orphanages teaching them dance and helping in their education, and I've seen what a difference I made in a small way to so many of them. Whether its India, Kenya or any other place in the world, children are children and their innocence deserves to be nurtured in the correct way. Working with people from any nation doesn't matter, as long as its making a difference to the world we live in. As I'm being trained to be a doctor, I believe that offering someone a helping hand, no matter who it is is my responsibility. But for me, not only is it my responsibility but its also my will. I want to make a small difference, and I would appreciate any support I could get, big or small, in my endeavour.
