Dogs Trust is the largest dog welfare charity in the UK. We love all dogs, and the people who love dogs too. We care for dogs in need through our network of 22 centres across the UK and Ireland, finding them loving new homes. A dog is for Life, not just for Christmas ©

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running the Liverpool Santa Dash on Sunday 2nd December.  As is standard with the Santa Dash I'll be running in full Santa costume. Those of you who know me, know I'm not the biggest fan of Christmas, so I'm making dressing up like this for a good cause so I don't whinge about the beard itching too much.

It is a break from the norm of my usual fundraisers.  This time around I've decided to run for the Dogs Trust.  If you're not a fan of dogs or no interest in them then thanks for visiting.

Despite my grumpy nature, I'm a huge fan of dogs.  The last two dogs I've had as pets were from dogs homes.  They've proven to be extremely loyal (if a little stupid, or very stupid in the case of Paddy) and all it took was for them to be taken in to a home where they were well looked after and cared for.  The Dogs Trust look to rehome around 16,000 dogs from their 18 rehoming centres up and down the UK.

Along with that, they run subsidised neutering campaigns, give classroom presentations on dog welfare, helps pet owners fleeing domestic violence by fostering the dogs till they have started a new life, aswell as provide vetinary care to homeless dog owners.

They rely on public donations to make all this possible.

I've set the bar at £200.  If I get more than that, awesome, if I get any way towards that, its still something going towards the Dogs Trust.

I realise this isn't some humanitarian charity and many may dismiss it as 'animals don't need charity'. However, to my mind, dogs are frickin' cool, can cheer you up in an instant, and like all good friends, stick with you and always have your back.
