Santas vs Elves - Each mile counts in the virtual race

Santas vs Elves · 10 December 2020 to 13 December 2020 ·
I am supporting East Anglia's Children's Hospices (EACH) during this time of crisis by taking part in the virtual event Santas vs Elves.
Most people know that they were there for us when Jacob died in 2012 and held our hands through the process of his death and into the days weeks and months after.
They helped us to make his death and the time untill his funeral as beautiful as he was.
Jacob lived for 501 days but EACH gave us 510.
No parent should face the trauma of loosing a child alone.
The Christmas after Jacob died as a family we completed a Santa dash. At the time walking 3km scared me. So 8 years on and 7 stone lighter I’m going to attempt to run 3 miles a day for 7 days instead. Might not seem far for some but it’s a daunting challenge for me.
EACH are experiencing a devastating drop in income as the vast majority of their supporters fundraising activities and their own events are cancelled or postponed. In light of this we want to do our bit, but need your help. Together we can make sure that vital care and support is still available for the children, young people and their families who need EACH, during and beyond this challenging and uncertain time. Unlike hospitals, they rely on the generosity of people like us to fund their services. Please help support EACH by donating on this JustGiving page and sharing it with friends and families. THANK YOU for everything that you are able to do and for making a difference to families during this challenging time.
