Thank you for taking the time to visit my Friends of St Mary´s PTA Fownhope JustGiving page. Please read this whole information before donating (it won´t take long!) My local primary school needs a new library for the children, and they are trying to raise funds to finance it, since this is not paid for by the state. I believe that giving these 100+ young children access to a good choice of books is very worthwhile and I am trying to support them in this effort. To fundraise for them, between 18th and 23rd July I will be cycling with 3 friends over some of the toughest mountains in World cycling, on the same days as the Tour de France. We will climb Les Deux Alpes, La Croix de Fer, Glandon, Lautaret, Galibier (twice). In total, over 4 days, 410 km (171 of these climbing), 12,605 meters of vertical gain and 24 Tour de Franced mountains (2 out of category, 8 1st category, 7 of 2nd, 3 or 3rd, 2 of 4th and 1 of 5th).   On 22nd July, we will do the deciding stage of the Tour, 109km over Telegraph, Galilbier and Alpe D'Huez, with 4,500m of vertical climb and reaching altitudes of 2,600 m. We expect each stage to take 6-8 hrs on the bike (or longer if we really blow up!) Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure.
