Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I got in contact with Manchester central food bank a few months ago about volunteering opportunities and they asked me if I was a runner. Me, being a smoker of 7 years meant that I never really considered myself particularly healthy let alone capable of running and so their email slowly made its way down my inbox folder as other aspects of university life began to take its place.
Luckily things change and I have both started to run and quit smoking and I honestly don’t think I would have been half as motivated to make these changes if it wasn’t for the support and donations I’ve received so far. Thank you everyone for helping me fundraise for such a good cause.
Manchester central food bank are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. They work to provide nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. Every day people in the UK go hungry for reasons ranging from redundancy to receiving an unexpected bill on a low income. A simple box of food makes a big difference, with foodbanks helping prevent crime, housing loss, family breakdown and mental health problems.
