Sara's Winter Night Shelter Sleep Out page

Winter Night Shelter Sleep Out · 23 March 2018
On the 23rd March I'll be taking part in the Winter Night Shelters Big Sleep Out, where myself and around 40 other people will be sleeping rough for the night to really understand what it feels like to be homeless in MK. If you know me you'll know that I hate being cold and tired: so this is not going to be easy!
If you live in, or have visited MK recently, you'll have noticed the number of tents popping up around the city. These tents are home for many of our local community. If you're anything like me you'll find this heartbreaking, because I truly believe that everyone has the right to a safe, warm place to rest their head at night.
I volunteer at the Winter Night Shelter and this charity are simply amazing. They give our homeless community someone warm and safe to sleep over the coldest winter nights, home-cooked food to eat, a friendly face to listen when they want to talk, and often help house the shelter residents in more permanent accommodation.
If you can spare any money, even the smallest donation, to help keep this charity helping the most vulnerable members of our society, then you are truly an inspiration.
Thank you.
