I'm running every day in January in aid of the RED January movement organised by the charity, Mind. RED stands for Run Every Day and this is to promote the positive effect of regular exercise can have on alleviating mental health symptoms for depression and anxiety. This is something I am passionate about having battled with my own mental health for several years, and would like to help raise awareness and make people feel its OK to talk about it openly and allow sufferers to have the confidence to reach out for support.
I will be donating 30 pence for every mile I complete in January and any other donations will be an added bonus. The cost of a private counselling session can cost around £40 a session. Charities such as Mind can provide free sessions with professionals and also training courses on topics such as emotional resilience and mindfulness to name a few.
