I completed the Silverstone half marathon yesterday in 3 hrs 27 mins - a personal best and considering the heat - I was more than pleased with this achievement.

Thank you to all that donated - it really meant a lot to me to have so much support. For any that still want to donate to a brilliant cause - the page will be open for the next two months (I think).

My original story is below......I love you all! :o)

Those of you who know me will know how much my life has been impacted after my beloved mum was diagnosed with bowel cancer last year.

It was only through the early screening process that this was picked up and because of that she is now cancer free and recovering at home with the prospect of returning back to work and a normal life in the Spring.

It has been a battle for the past five months and it is because of her bravery that I have been inspired to run a half marathon on 11 March on behalf of Bowel & Cancer Research. It is the UK's second biggest cancer killer, but if detected early enough it can be beaten.

If I can help just one other person by dragging my sorry behind around a 13-mile track, then it will be worthwhile.

So basically I'm begging, yes begging - you to part with as much of your hard-earned cash that you can spare to help me smash my fundraising goal.
