Rainbow Trust Children's Charity supports families who have a child with a serious or life-threatening illness. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support.

A couple of months ago a friend of mine just happened to mention, on Facebook of all places, that his 4 year old son had a non-blanching rash. A very short conversation ensued where we established that Ted should be seen in hospital - next day I learned that Ted had acute lymphocytic leukaemia.

ALL is a condition with reasonable odds of cure - but Ted faces 3 years of grueling chemotherapy to get better. In addition Mum, Dad and his little sister will also have their lives turned upside down as they all get on with the difficult business of living with a serious illness.

Rainbow Trust are a charity that supports families living with a child with a serious illness - their help is crucial to Ted and his family right now, and will continue to be needed for many, many families around the UK.

Ever year I try (badly) to do the manchester run. This year, even if I have to crawl (a distinct possibility) - I will be doing it for Ted & his family, and others in the same boat as them. Even though I am not a good runner, I think I can at least do something to raise money.

Please support me if you can!
