HSBC Arctic Challenge 2018 · 3 August 2018 to 10 August 2018 ·
Hi Everyone!
In August 2018, I will be trekking 100KM over 5 days to the Arctic Circle in Greenland! 99 colleagues from HSBC and I will trek 12-13 miles a day though tundra and glaciers, carrying our gear on our backs and camping under the stars. We will be doing all of this to raise money and awareness for WaterAid.
WaterAid is a non-profit that provides access to clean drinking water and sanitation throughout the developing world. Currently, 1 in 10 people don’t have clean water and 1 in 3 don’t have access to a decent toilet. Dirty water and poor toilets kills a child under 5 every 2 minutes.
Clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene should be a normal part of everyone’s daily life. Without all three, people can’t live dignified, healthy lives. With all three, they can unlock their potential, break free from poverty and change their lives for good. With clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene, children are born healthier. They get the chance to go to school and grow up to become adults. Whole communities start to thrive. It sounds normal and it should be.
