Hello! If you've got this far, the chances are you are about to part with your money, so thanks very much!
For those of you who don't know, I suffer from an auto-immune disease called Sjogren's Syndrome. I've been under the care of Guy's hospital for about 6 years now and I figure it's about time I gave something back. So, I'm taking part in a half marathon on 13th November and running for the BSSA. A charity that investigates the causes and is generally there to support people like me.
This disease resulted in me having to have a large part of my paratoid gland in my neck removed and I was left with a hacking raw scar for a long time, along with the high risk of facial paralysis. A very difficult time for me, all in all. I'm doing ok now, but there is no cure and no way of telling if my body's defence system will start attacking itself again, as it did before.
Research is needed, so dig deep please people!
Love and a big hug from me xxx
