Race to the Stones · 15 July 2017

The number of people diagnosed with cancer is growing, we're doing whatever it takes to help more people with cancer get the best care the UK has to offer, whoever and wherever they are. To donate, volunteer, raise money or campaign with us, call 0300 1000 200 or visit macmillan.org.uk

Story

On July 15th 2017 I will be taking on Race to the Stones, walking a 100km (62 miles) ultra marathon nonstop along Britain's oldest path, the Ridgeway. The walk starts at Lewknor in Oxfordshire and finishes at Britain's oldest stone circle in Avebury.

I will be raising funds for Macmillan and hope that you can spare whatever you are able and support me through blisters, sweat, tears and hopefully laughter!  It's quite a daunting undertaking obviously but I'm looking forward to it with excitement and trepidation and will keep this page updated as training progresses.

Cancer has touched my life and the lives of people I love very much in the past year and made me determined to undertake an epic challenge in order to raise money for a charity which does so very much to support those affected by cancer. All costs for the event are covered out of my own pocket so every penny you donate goes to Macmillan.

In memory of two wonderful people, Margaret Watkins and Paul Lawrence
