Joining Jack has the ultimate aim of finding a cure for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, one of the most common fatal genetic conditions in the world. Recent scientific breakthroughs mean that the development of a treatment is closer than ever, and this will not only help Jack but all sufferers of DMD.

Story

Hi, thanks for visiting our page.  This is a charity extremely close to our hearts not only because Jack is our friend, but also because being a family full of little boys (8 in total with not a girl in sight!) makes this disease seem all the more devastating.  DMD only affects boys.

Our boys were desperate to help and we wanted a challenge we could all do together so we have decided to run our little legs off in September for Joining Jack at the Wigan races.  I will be doing the 10k (gulp) while Ben (9), Jonny (9), Sam (7), Ollie (5) and Zach (4) will be running the 2k, but we need your support to help us help Jack.

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy (DMD) is a terminal illness affecting boys only!  1 in every 3500 boys is affected and it is a progressive muscle wasting disease, resulting in the child being in a wheelchair by the age of 12 with death usually occurring before the age of 30.

It’s incomprehensible to think that this is one of the most common fatal genetic disorders affecting children today and yet at present, there is still no cure.

We are trying to help find a cure by raising as much money as possible for Joining Jack.  Every donation no matter how small can make a huge difference.  Please support me and my gorgeous little men by donating to Joining Jack today.

Thank you, you are AWESOME! (their words not mine!!)
