Having witnessed a close family member struggle for many years before being diagnosed, has made me realise that early detection could possibly have prevented the three years of oral chemotherapy that they had to endure, which in turn has left them weak and vulnerable.                                                            I would like to raise as much as possible to help with funding for research, so any donations however big or small will be very much appreciated. GIST Cancer UK funds research and provides support for patients with a rare form of cancer known as Gastro-Intestinal Stromal Tumour (GIST). We provide patient information in hospitals throughout the UK, host support meetings for patients and carers and host an online community providing practical advice and information.
