I have recently become a committee member for a wonderful charity, World Medicine.  World Medicine sends teams of acupuncturists, osteopaths and other complementary health practitioners to treat in areas where people are suffering the effects of trauma, disaster, poverty, and often where there is little other healthcare. 

 The first World Medicine trip was to Sri Lanka after the tsunami, since then we have established ongoing projects in both the Gaza, treating adults and children affected physically and emotionally from the stress of the conflict in the region, and in India, supporting the Odanadi Project, which rescues children and young women sold as slaves into the sex trade and houses, educates and helps them back to normal life.  The treatment we have been able to offer has made a huge difference to the anxiety, stress and trauma suffered.    

Each practitioner gives their time and treatment for free.  Money raised goes directly to the charity to cover the costs of airfares, equipment, accommodation and translators.   I am planning to treat this winter at the Odanadi project in India, and to join a trip to the Gaza early next year.  I would be very grateful for any support you feel able to give.
