For the 5th year running, Edinburgh Medics are putting on  'The
Medics Reveal'- a charity dance show (with a twist!!) completely in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust (TCT).

Last year was the first time i took part and i threw myself
in the deep end by being on committee as well. Despite the huge amount of time and effort that went into organizing the event, when it came to the show night it all seemed worth it, and even more so when we found out we raised....£24,000!!!!! This now means that over the 5 years running, they have raised nearly £70,000 for TCT.

Now on my paediatric rotation, and having volunteered with a
charity i the summer that gives children with serious illness's a holiday, i
have seen how much illness and disability can affect a child's life. Not only are they very ill but they miss out on being able to just be a 'normal' child/teenager as they have to mature fast and deal with many hard times. Having seen the wards in the hospital teenage cancer trust build i know appreciate even more how fab a charity it is. The wards are bright and colourful with TV's,  games and rooms to chill out in. They have tried to de-medicalize the hospital environment as much as possible to help these children feel like they are just at home.

I am on committee again this year and cant wait to take part
in the show again- this time stepping up from 'girls moderate' to 'mixed full-finale!!) Sadly however this will also be my last year performing in it, but even more reason to push to raise more money!

We surprised even ourselves last year with how much we
managed to raise and hope we can top that again this year!

With 9 weeks to go, Tickets will be on sale soon and we hope
you all buy tickets asap as it is one of the highlights of the year and a night definitely not to be missed, but in the mean time any donations would be greatly  appreciated.
