Those of you who know me well, will be aware that "excercise" for me over the past few years has either been a slow stroll around a golf course or jumping up and down on a sunlounger in Spain with one hand in the air.....so you'll be as surprised as I am that I have signed up to the Great North Run (did someone mention 13 miles??!) which is now only a month away on September 20th.

I have never, ever been a runner so I've experienced a whole new world of getting up before midday at weekends, spending a fortune on socks and trying to combat extreme bordom on the treadmill but... so far, so good and the training is going well. 

My chosen charity is Age Concern/Help the Aged who provide fantastic support and activity network to the over 50's, helping with financial and health issues and encouraging participation in fitness activities.....so really I am just investing for all of our futures!!
