<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">As some of you are aware I have agreed (perhaps foolishly) to take part in a half marathon in April to raise funds for the Guides GOLD project.</span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;"> </span></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">G</span></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">OLD Projects are a unique opportunity for young Guide members between the age of 18-30 to travel to different countries to help promote community development. The 2011 GOLD project is travelling to Sri Lanka where Young Ladies will spend three months in teams of 6 <span style="font-family: Trebuchet MS;">focussing on community development and education.</span></span></span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"></span><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">In order for projects like this to be successful they rely not only on the Young Ladies who volunteer for this unique experience but also on Donations to fund them. It is with this in mind that I have volunteered to run the Croydon Half Marathon in April and to (hopefully) raise an amount that will make a substantial difference, not only to the expedition but to the lives of all the people they will effect in Sri Lanka.</span></span></p>

<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: x-small;"><span style="font-family: Arial; font-size: 10pt;">Apart from taking part in a half marathon I will be holding a cake sale and a Raffle to help raise as much money as possible.</span></span></p>
